⁡ Kimono is not something to be consumed.
It is something to be lived with. ⁡ At KYOism, we work with kimono across its entire life —
from bespoke creation to renewal, from one season to the next, from one generation to another. ⁡ What is often translated simply as “repair” is, in fact, much more.It is the art of listening to the thoughts through anscestors. 
how it was worn, how it has aged, and how it wishes to continue.This way of working has been passed down for three generations in our family.
Today, it lives between Kyoto and Hong Kong — between tradition and change, preservation and evolution. ⁡ To care for a kimono is to care for time itself.

⁡ 𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑲𝒀𝑶𝒊𝒔𝒎 KYOism was born from a lineage that has cared for kimono since 1897.
For generations, our family has believed that a kimono is not merely worn — it is brought to life through craft, care, and intention. ⁡ Rooted in Kyoto, we have long practiced the art of Sikkai — restoring, refining, and sustaining kimono so they may continue their journey across time.
This philosophy extends beyond garments. It lives in daily rituals, respect for the seasons, and a way of living that values depth over speed. ⁡ Through this mindful relationship with tradition, we have learned that true wellbeing is found not in excess, but in attention — to materials, to time, and to how we move through our days. ⁡ Today, KYOism exists between places.
With one foot in Kyoto and another in Hong Kong, we continue this legacy as a dialogue between cultures, generations, and perspectives. Honoring what has been passed down, while remaining open to what lies ahead. ⁡ KYOism is not about preserving the past as it was.

This is an ongoing visual journal of craft, care, and continuity. ⁡ ⁡ KYOismは1897年創業の新染苑廣田の歩みの中から生まれました。 代々大切にしてきたのは、着物を「着るもの」として扱うのではなく、手をかけ、想いを重ね、命を吹き込むこと。 ⁡ 京都に根ざし、三代にわたって受け継がれてきた悉皆の仕事は、お誂え、仕立て直し、未来へとつなぐための営みです。
 その姿勢は、着物に限らず、日々の習慣や季節を敬う心、丁寧な暮らしへと広がってきました。 ものと向き合い、 時間をかけることで見えてくる心地よさ。
量よりも質を選ぶこと。

京都にいる両親と二人三脚でこの仕事を続けています。
受け継いできたものを大切にしながら、

was not in things, but in myself. Since then, I have chosen to invest
my time, energy, and attention with care. ⁡ Not all investments are financial.

⁡ How I Learned to Feel the Seasons ⁡ My father, born on Setsubun,
received a small wooden masu marked “Setsubun Festival”
on his very first birthday, 75 years ago. ⁡ In my family, seasons were never events to explain,
but something to welcome, taste, and quietly prepare for. Through simple rituals —
a demon-shaped dish, a shared meal at the table —
 my sense of the seasons was shaped, almost without noticing. Nothing extraordinary,just a family who cared for the passing of time.
 節分生まれの父が、
0歳の誕生日に授かった「節分祭」と書かれた枡。 ⁡ 行事としてではなく、季節の着物のみならず
ライフスタイルでも 季節を迎え、味わい、整えることが
いつも暮らしの中にありました。 ⁡ 鬼の器、巻き寿司、
何気ない食卓の風景も、
振り返れば、四季を感じる感覚を両親が
静かに育ててくれていたのだと思います。 ⁡ 特別なことは何もないけれど、
